Podcasts to listen to this month
At Auxbus, we are constantly immersed in podcasts. We spend most of our time on the front end of podcasting (the creation part), but it’s no surprise that we also love to listen to a good completed podcast. Whether you are looking for something to listen to while you’re on the way to your summer vacation, driving for a business trip, working at the office, or you are looking for some inspiration for your next podcast, we wanted to share a few of our favorites this month with you.
If you are interested in fictional or narrative storytelling podcasts, here are a few of our favorites:
Dirty John by Wondery is hosted by Christopher Goffard. It shares the story of Debera Newell, a successful interior designer. “She meets John Meehan, a handsome man who seems to check all the boxes: attentive, available, just back from a year in Iraq with Doctors Without Borders. But her family doesn’t like John, and they get entangled in an increasingly complex web of love, deception, forgiveness, denial, and ultimately, survival.”
Someone Knows Something by CBC Radio and hosted by David Ridgen. Each season, “host David Ridgen joins victims' family members as they investigate cold cases, tracking down leads, speaking to suspects and searching for answers.” The investigation is played out over the course of each episode in the season.
If you are looking for a good fictional listen, try Hello From the Magic Tavern. A podcast about Arnie, a human from Chicago who has fallen through a magical rift behind a Burger King into the land of Foon. Since he has his podcasting equipment with him and he's getting a weak Wi-Fi signal from Burger King through the rift, he decided to host a weekly podcast from The Vermilion Minotaur where he interviews the strange people and creatures he meets.
